Support Sean Nye
Four-year-old Sean was diagnosed in October 2013 with HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis), which is a rare blood disorder, primarily seen in infants and children. Sean is currently receiving Chemotherapy Treatments weekly. Due to the progression of his HLH, Sean now requires a bone marrow transplant. He has a compromised immune system due to the chemotherapy, so he is in constant risk of infection. We are now waiting, as they check the Bone Marrow world wide database for a potential bone marrow donor. We pray for a compatible match soon. Please send up prayers for brave little man.
Sean lives in Newmanstown, Pa with his family and enjoys everything a little boy would, especially spending time with his brothers Brayden and Ryan.
Due to the amount of time that Sean spends in and out of the hospital, and the mounting medical bills, we have started this website to help raise money to help with the financial burdens that the family is facing. Any donations that you make will go to Sean Nye and his family during this difficult time. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers, and appreciate your support.
UPDATE as of 7/14/14
Since the last update. Sean celebrated his 5th Birthday in March and enjoyed some much deserved time at home with his family prior to him Receiving his Bone Marrow Transplant in April 2014. Unfortunately, Sean Rejected the Transplant after just two months. Now, Sean received a Second Bone marrow Transplant from the same bone marrow donor, on July 11th 2014. Thus far, everything is going well. Sean is feeling well, eating and happy. We are so grateful to all of our wonderful family and friends, new and old, that have been there for us through this difficult journey. It has warmed our hearts and allowed us to stand strong for our brave little boy, Sean. Thank you for checking on our our precious boy. Blessings to you and your family.
UPDATE as of 1/12/2014
Sean has been responding very well to his treatments over the past few months. Several "complete" matches were even found on the bone marrow database, for Sean to receive his much needed Bone Marrow Transplant. However, a week and a half before the Transplant was to take place, we were informed that the Donors were "unavailable", requiring us to start our search once again. We continue to keep our Faith.
Sean has undergone extensive oral surgery recently. Due to the high doses of certain medications necessary for his treatment, he has had dental issues. Sean is recovering very well and continues to be our brave little boy. Sean had a wonderful Christmas at home with his family. He is enjoying the snow and is even allowed limited time outside to play in it. Sean even begged to ride his bike the other day, which we permitted. Sean is back to being our happy little man. His smile lights up a room and laughter is infectious. We are so blessed to have our sweet baby boy home with us right now.
Our next step is just to be patient and wait for CHOP (The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) to contact us with, we pray, another "complete" match from the Bone Marrow Database. Until then, Sean continues to visit the hospital weekly for his Chemotherapy treatments and he gets to enjoy his time home with his family. PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR PRECIOUS LITTLE MAN.
